Located in the picturesque Test Valley, in the heart of Hampshire’s countryside, The Apple Rooms at Houghton Lodge Gardens provide the perfect self-catering accommodation to reunite with friends and family members.
What was once a dormant calf byre of one of Hampshire’s most beautiful, privately owned historic houses, Houghton Lodge, is now a bespoke collection of six individually designed boutique en-suite bedrooms, all named after apple trees growing in the walled garden orchard.

Each with their own front door, kitchen, and facilities, The Apple Rooms, which can sleep up to 12, are perfect for a short break and staycation with friends and family members, who you have been distanced from as a result of COVID-19. They are also perfect for romantic getaways, people wishing to explore Hampshire and Wiltshire, fishermen, walkers, wedding parties, and families visiting their loved ones. Dogs are welcome too.
All guests will have free entry to the stunning grade II* listed gardens during their stay (11.00-5.00pm 8th July – 30th September) which include an ancient apple orchard, rose arbour, herb garden, Britain’s widest espalier pear tree and rolling lawns down to the gin-clear waters of the River Test.

The rooms have a kitchenette with microwave, kettle, toaster, and fridge. Whilst there is no oven or hob you are welcome to bring a BBQ and use the outside space to enjoy alfresco dining. Bathrooms are equipped with automatic lighting, anti-mist smart mirror, heated towel rail and underfloor heating. There is free wifi, linen, smart TV, hairdryer, ironing board, magazines, books, local map and picnic rug. A continental breakfast hamper can be pre-ordered.
The Apple Rooms provide the perfect staycation for you and your family and are ready to welcome you.
