London-based Birchall Tea’s constant pursuit of perfection goes back through the generations, starting over 140 years ago with Captain Birchall Graham, who was posted to India as an officer with the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, selling his commission after 18 years of service. Using his savings he decided to plant tea in Darjeeling, thus sowing the seeds of a highly successful tea dynasty. The present generation of the Graham family continues to trade tea across international markets and the youngest members, Daniel & Tresham, represent the 5th generation. The company is based in London with a 62,000 sq/ft factory in Amesbury, Wiltshire, and has extensive interests in East Africa, including trading offices in Mombasa, Kenya.
Today the Graham family is one of the largest exporters of East African tea in the world and its rich heritage and passion for creating perfect blends is reflected in its award-winning collection of teas, which include its signature black teas, green teas from China, English Breakfast Tea, Earl Grey, decaffeinated teas, fruit and herbal infusions.
