If you would like to take a longer walk along mown paths through the water meadows (about 12 acres) down to the main river and take a closer look at our three pet Alpacas; Tom, Dick and Harry, we ask you to put £2.50 in our Alpaca Honesty Box. But don't forget that all children under 14 are free.

Dogs are welcome on short leads.

Group Visits

Coach tours and group visits are welcome if booked in advance. We suggest a Wednesday when the gardens are closed to the general public but visits may also be arranged for any time including early evening.

  • Groups of over 30 people -  £4.50 for the Gardens only, (minimum £100), or £11.00 to visit both the House and Garden, (minimum £200)
  • Groups of under 30 - £5.00 for the Gardens only, (minimum £100), and £11.50 for the House and Garden, (minimum £200)

For visiting groups we can arrange a delicious lunch, a cream tea or a light supper if required. We use only the freshest and best local produce, delicious local cheeses, ham, cream and homemade Jam.

Disabled Access

There is full access to The Tea House, Hydroponic Greenhouse, Conservatory and Walled Kitchen Garden (although there are gravel paths)

For the less able, after exploring these areas, visitors are welcome to drive through the two courtyards and park by the Yew Hedge at the end of the house from where it is just a few paces to our Terrace. Here you can sit and enjoy the lovely views across the lawns to the river and unspoilt, peaceful countryside below.

Disabled visitors are welcome to use the wheelchaor which is kept in the room leading to the disabled toilet in the Visitor Centre.

A plan of the graden showing the suggested route for buggies and wheelchairs can be found in the Visitor Centre.
