Bridal Bazaar and Bridal Boot Sale wedding showcase event at Hampshire wedding venue Houghton Lodge Gardens.
On Sunday 2nd April, Houghton Lodge Gardens hosted a spectacular Bridal Bazaar featuring a Bridal Boot Sale.
It was our first wedding showcase event which was organized by event and communications agency What Peggy Did Next.
With blue skies and spring sunshine illuminating the daffodils, primroses, blossom and new spring bulbs, the gardens provided a stunning location for the popular bridal event, which welcomed couples, brides to be and bridal parties.
Previous brides set up pretty stalls in the marquee (supplied by Emerald Marquees) selling an array of pre-loved items from vintage crockery, vases and materials whilst a whole host of talented wedding suppliers provided plenty of inspiration, advice and suggestions.
Visitors enjoyed a glass of Prosecco on arrival provided by The Bubble Brothers, followed by canapés and tasters by Mcrimmond and Reid and by Honesty Group who cooked a large paella in the Walled Garden. Pizza Pigs served wood fired pizzas whilst the newly launched Fancy Float served an array of gastro delights. Guests couldn’t miss The Meringue Girls with their colourful rainbow coloured meringue kisses.
Laura Smith Flowers beautifully decorated the Orangery with posies and bouquets of spring and summer blooms whilst Love with Letters showcased their stunning floral letter displays and The Feather Balloon Company provided giant helium balloons.
Brides were able to sample and test a range of hair and make-up from Farida Ghwedar, Frances Moore Mua and Elliot & McCartney Wedding Design whilst Exquisite Bridal Couture displayed some of their designer wedding gowns.
In the courtyard the sounds of Vinyl Beats provided an acoustic treat whilst brides, grooms and their parties sampled tastings from wedding caterers and children enjoyed The Little Top – where plenty of ideas were given on how to entertain the smaller wedding guests.
There were viewings of the two ceremony rooms at Houghton Lodge allowing couples to see the stunning Music Room with its domed Trompe L’Oeil painted ceiling and French windows opening directly to the estate’s landscaped lawn, and the Chinese Dining Room featuring hand painted Chinese silk wallpaper which tells the story of love, luck and prosperity. The rooms are easily the most romantic licensed civil ceremony rooms in Hampshire.
The new tearoom, Honesty at Houghton Lodge Gardens served teas and coffees as well as a delicious menu of homemade cakes and savoury dishes including soup, paninis, sandwiches, quiches and tarts.
We would like to thank all the suppliers and visitors for making our first bridal event success and most of all, a wonderful experience.
